FAQ

The need-to-knows

You’re not the first person to ask if dogs are allowed (they are). Here’s the rest.

How do I get to Lightspace?

Lightspace is located at 30 Light Street (corner of Scanlan Street), Fortitude Valley, Brisbane QLD 4006. The entrance to the Studios is on Light Street and via Scanlan Street.

Set in the heart of Brisbane’s creative district, Lightspace is just a short walk or scooter ride from Fortitude Valley, New Farm, and the CBD. We’re also close to local hotspots like The Emporium, James Street, King Street, and The Gasworks. The easiest way to find us is to turn left at the Audi dealership across from The Emporium on Wickham Street. You are now on Light Street. Follow it all the way to the end.

Parking is available, though limited during business hours. After hours, there’s usually plenty of free street parking on Scanlan and Prospect Streets. During the day, parking is a mix of metered and free, but it can be congested. Nearby parking stations include the Homemaker Centre (4 minutes’ walk) and RNA Showgrounds (10 minutes’ walk). We recommend using public transport, taxis, or rideshare services where possible.

Public transport options are also convenient. The closest train station is Fortitude Valley (formerly Brunswick Street), which is a 10–15 minute walk or 5 minutes by rideshare. If you’re coming by bus from the city, take the Toombul 300 or Nudgee 306 and hop off at Stop 8 on Wickham Street. From there, it’s just a few minutes up Light Street.

Accommodation is close by. The Ovolo Hotel is just two minutes’ walk from the venue. Other nearby options include The Calile, The Constance, Alpha Mosaic, Alex Perry, and Rydges Fortitude Valley. For budget-conscious guests, BreakFree Apartments on Brookes Street is a solid option. The Brisbane CBD is only a short 5–10 minute trip by taxi or Uber.

How do I get to Prospect Studios?

Prospect Studios is located in the heart of Fortitude Valley, just a short walk from Brisbane’s best creative, dining, and lifestyle precincts. We’re right next door to the Homemaker Centre Valley North and only five minutes on foot from The Emporium, Gasworks, and James Street.

Whether you’re commuting or catching up after work, our neighbourhood’s got you covered. Local favourites like The Triffid, Range Brewing, Newstead Brewing Co, and Green Beacon are just a five-minute stroll away. For those looking to squeeze in a session before or after work, Goodlife Gym is right next door.

Parking is available but limited during peak hours. You’ll find a mix of metered and free street parking, though it can be congested during the day. The nearest parking station is conveniently located at the Homemaker Centre (just two minutes away), with dedicated spaces available from $425 per month. Free bicycle and scooter parking is also available onsite.

Public transport is a breeze. We’re two minutes’ walk from Wickham Street and just three minutes from Ann Street, with frequent buses running throughout the day. Bowen Hills and Fortitude Valley (Brunswick Street) train stations are both around ten minutes’ walk from the studios.

Does Lightspace still host events?

No, Lightspace no longer hosts large-scale events. If you’re looking for an event venue, we recommend our sister space, Loyal Hope. We do, however, offer rooms for workshops, offsites, and meetings.

Who’s behind these spaces?

Both studios are created and run by the team behind Lightspace and Loyal Hope — independent, design-led, and locally owned.

Are both spaces dog friendly?

Yes, dogs are always welcome.

Do you have end-of-trip facilities?

Yes, both studios include showers, lockers, and secure bike storage.

Can I use the wellness facilities at Lightspace if I’m a Prospect member?

Yes, you’re welcome to use the wellness facilities as part of your membership. We encourage it... balance is part of good work.

Can I access both studios with my hot desking membership?

Yes. Your membership gives you flexible access across both Prospect Studios and Lightspace. Work where it suits you best — same membership, more freedom.
