Wow, what a great night! Â With different light installations from local artists dotted around the venue the Ten10 Exhibition certainly brought something different to Brisbane. Â Great to see this stuff happening, especially produced by some local lads and ladettes.
Lightspace hosted Treading Water, a mid-week fundraiser for the Premier’s Flood Relief Appeal. With some great bands playing including Silent Feature Era, Alan Boyle and The Shelby Riots, not to mention a special guest appearance by state MP Grace Grace, a fab night was had by all. A big thanks to Mat from AAA Backstage for organising such a worthy event.
With an incredible mash up of music and images, Sampology’s Preview Show went off with a monster bang. Â For those of you unfamiliar with Sam’s work, he cuts up and mixes film footage from every obscure source imaginable to accompany a banging DJ set. Â A very talented young lad, this was the preview show to his upcoming US tour. Â Being a Brissie boy, Sam also got everyone got on board to donate the ticket price to the Flood Relief Appeal. Â A personal fave was the set by DJ Cutloose, who actually prepares a very tasty pizza while spinning some kicking tunes in full chef outfit. Â A good time, a great cause and a big thanks to Jane from Young Strangers and the crew from Wine and Dine M.
The Blacklight music festival featured Dappled Cities, The Boat People and many others. Nice to see the venue used for a public music event and to hear some very cool indie sounds. Stay tuned for the next one @ www.sceneless.com.au. Images courtesy of Lachlan Gardiner… http://lachlangardiner.com
